Tuesday, February 3

Today, February 3rd, is the feast day of Saint Blaise.  Saint Blaise was a 4th-century Bishop in Armenia (present-day Turkey) who was martyred by the Roman Emperor Licinius.  Originally a physician, St. Blaise became a renowned pastor and is celebrated as the patron saint of throat illnesses, invoking protection through a blessing with two crossed, blessed candles.  He is associated with blessing of throats because he reportedly healed a child choking on a fishbone.  Especially timely in this cold and flu season, Deacon Dave Miskell will be here today visiting each House with Mr. Gregson to offer the traditional Saint Blaise blessing of the throats.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th,  we will welcome Father Linus for Mass. Students, please wear your oxfords and be in dress code for this special Mass.

Thursday, February 5th, students are allowed to wear their House shirts.
