Sarah Lanham Principal
Sarah Lanham joined Gibault Catholic High School as our principal for the 2023-24 school year. Sarah grew up in New Athens where she attended St. Agatha Catholic Grade School and then New Athens High School. She graduated from SIUE with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and American College of Education with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
Sarah has worked in the Belleville Diocese for 18 years as a teacher and principal. She began her career at St. Mary in Belleville where she taught Kindergarten for three years, then moved to St. Agatha where she taught 7/8th grade for five years before shifting into the role as principal for five years. Sarah then decided to go back into the classroom and taught 5-8th grade Math and Science at St. John the Baptist in Smithton for one year before going back into the role as principal for four years
Sarah and her husband, Bob, and their three children, Josh, Lauren, and Chase, live between Red Bud and Waterloo. They are parishioners at St. John the Baptist in Red Bud. Josh and Lauren are both Gibault Hawks. In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing games, spending time outdoors with her family and watching her children’s sporting events. She also likes to bullet journal, cheer on the St. Louis Blues, and watch Hallmark Christmas movies all year long!
