Kim started as the part-time Administrative Assistant with Dawn Grohmann in 2025. Prior to Gibault, Kim was a preschool teacher and 2nd grade teacher at Sts. Peter and Paul School since 2007. She has lived in Waterloo since 2004 and is a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish. Kim is married to Kris Huels, and is a mom to 3 children. Two of her children are Gibault graduates, Karson (class of 2019) is a nurse at Children’s Hospital, and Kayla (class of 2020) finished her Masters in speech pathology at SLU. Kaden is currently enrolled at Gibault and his family is looking forward to seeing him soar high as a Hawk like his siblings!

Kim enjoys working with children from the littles to the teens. She enjoys being around children and watching them grow while building relationships with them. In her free time, Kim loves spending time traveling (especially a beach), being outdoors (hikes and walks), reading, and watching sports.
