TENNIS:
The Tennis Hawks began their 2025 season yesterday against Collinsville, losing to the Kahoks, 7-2.
Congratulations to the team’s individual winners: Myra Coats won her Singles 2 match when she split sets against her opponent 6-0; 4-6 and then went on to win the tiebreaker 10-7.
Myra also teamed up with her Doubles 2 partner, Kaila Jerkaitis, to win their match 8-4. Hats off to Kaila, as well, for her valiant effort in her singles match. Despite an ankle injury suffered in her doubles match, Kaila split sets and battled through two tiebreakers, before losing 7-6; 3-6; 6-10.
The Hawks will play their next match against Waterloo on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
