DEBATE TEAM:

This past Friday, Brock Murphy represented Gibault while competing in the Varsity State Championship Debate competition held at Illinois State University. After six rounds on Friday, Brock was 6-0 and the #1 seed in the tournament.  On Saturday, Brock finished in the final four and was named the #2 speaker in the state.  Debate tournaments are not broken into classes, so Brock was competing against the largest schools in the state.  Brock’s 2nd place finish and the final four distinction were the highest for any non-Chicago school.  Great job, Brock!

The Lady Hawks soccer team defeated Breese Central by the score of 8-1 behind a five-goal performance by Emily Richardson , with Elena Oggero chipping in with 3 assists.
