At Gibault Catholic High School, we prepare our students for life after high school from day one. Our modular schedule teaches students valuable time management skills that will help them in college and the work force. Gibault’s schedule is very similar to a college schedule in that some classes do not meet every day. Our day is divided into 18 units called mods, with each mod lasting 20 minutes. Most classes meet for two mods back-to-back, while others meet for three mods.

Below is a typical freshman schedule. Our school day begins at 7:55 a.m. with homeroom. Classes are in session from 8 a.m. until 2:54 p.m. The open times are unscheduled time, where students can meet with teachers, study in the library, work in groups in a study area, or enjoy the beautiful outdoor patios on our campus. Our cafeteria is open from mod F (9:58) to mod M (12:59) for lunch. Our unique schedule enables our students to take responsibility for their learning experience.

Another feature of our schedule is the six-day cycle. Each day of the school year is numbered one through six. Classes meet according to the day of the cycle, not the day of the week. Some classes meet only on even days, some meet only on odd days, and some meet five out of six days. Holidays and other days off of school do not interrupt the six-day cycle. Since most days off occur on Mondays and Fridays, a six-day cycle ensures each course receives close to same amount of instructional time per year.
