There will be a FCA meeting on Sunday, September 29th at Lakeview Park at 1:00. All are welcome!
TENNIS:
The tennis team lost to Granite City yesterday, 6-3, but three of the Hawks players had hard-fought, come-from-behind victories against their opponents.
Singles 1, Clara Willson fell behind 3-1 but took control of her match and won 8-3.
S3, Sophie Winkeler trailed in her match until the end when she tied the score at 7-7 and again at 8-8. She then went on to win the 7-point tiebreaker and the match, 9-8.
Doubles 1 partners, Clara Willson and Myra Coats remained unfazed in a tense, see-saw battle, exchanging leads with their opponents several times until they finally prevailed 8-6.
The Hawks are now 4-2.
