Scott Ruppel was hired in 2001 as the Gibault music director and has spent his entire teaching career here. Scott is a 1996 graduate of Mater Dei Catholic High School. He attended the University of Illinois, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.

At Gibault, Scott has taken on many roles. In addition to being the music director, Scott is our Campus Minister, overseeing the spiritual education of Gibault’s students. Scott is also in charge of the “Hawkappellas,” our a cappella group and was the golf coach for 12 years.

When he is not at Gibault, Scott can be found serving his parish as Music Director at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt. Scott and his wife, Michelle, have three children and a dog and live in Millstadt.   Their oldest, Kylie, attends Gibault, while their younger two, Carson and Addison, attend St. James Catholic School in Millstadt.  The family dog is a Goldendoodle, named Chloe.  In his spare time, Scott loves to play golf, watch Netflix, and spend time with his family.
