Austin Meehan Social Studies Instructor

Austin Meehan is a member of the Social Studies department at Gibault Catholic. He was hired as the Civics, Advanced Civics, Advanced World History, and US History teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Austin graduated from Freeburg High School in 2012, and went on to Lindenwood-Belleville, where he earned a scholarship for bowling and won the NAIA Athletic award for his respective sport and grades. Afterwards, he attended SIUE, where he earned his degree in history.

Austin student-taught at Belleville West High School during the winter of 2018 and was hired on as a Teacher’s Assistant at the same school afterward, working with special needs students at the Bridges Program. At Gibault, Austin is the Model UN sponsor, as well as the assistant bowling coach. During his free time, Austin enjoys bowling, playing darts and pool, and staying in shape.
