PROM:
The last day to buy prom tickets is tomorrow. Tickets are $50 and students must have service hours completed before purchasing a ticket. If you are bringing a date who does not attend Gibault, a completed guest form must be turned in before purchasing a ticket. See Mrs. Knittig for questions.
NHS:
NHS has selected their new officers for next year.

BASEBALL:
Last night the varsity baseball team beat Trico 6-4. Nathaniel Atkinson threw a complete game on the mound to earn the win, he allowed just 5 hits. The offense was led by Nolan Snell and Robert Pierpoint each collecting 3 hits and Tyler Frierdich had a big 2-run single to give us the lead in the 6th.
JOB/VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
There are several job and volunteer opportunities on the Hawk’s Nest board near the office. If you are looking for something to do this summer, check these opportunities out on your way to the Commons.
TRACK:
Congratulations to the sprint medley team of Andrew Donius, Derrick Knoll, Michael Wessel and Ryan Biffar for setting a new school record and Elly Goeddel for breaking the school record in the 200 meters.
PROM:

Over Easter break the Lady Hawks were defeated by Marissa and Wesclin. They take on Steeleville at Steeleville on Thursday night.
ACADEMIC CHALLENGE:
Congratulations to Academic Challenge Team for finishing 4th in the state competition Monday. Winning medals were Mia Petruso for finishing 4th in English, Paul Ott, 3rd in Engineering Grahics and Brady Moore, State Champion (again) in Computer Science!

FFA:
FFA went to SIU-C for livestock judging with 2 teams and one individual as well as to horticulture competition on April 11. Avery Herrmann had our top score with a rank of 11, followed by Aja Bernardino, Henry Dillenberger, and Joe Whitworth. Additionally, Myra Coats, Cassidey Gregson, Nora Wirth and Lily Nguyen did very well giving Gibault a rank of 31 overall. Our individual team member, Catie Altes, ranked first in our district section 22!!!
Our horticulture contestants placed as follows: Mia Petruso, Sienna Spencer, Charlee Lumpkins, and Ella Jackson.
WE BEAT MATER DEI!!
We then traveled to Joliet Junior College to compete in the FFA State Food Science CDE. Nora Wirth earned a blue ribbon, Mia Petruso, a red ribbon and Sophie Winkeler and Myra Coats each earning a white ribbon.
Overall a successful weekend!

The Lady Hawks beat Wesclin 9-1.

SOFTBALL:
Congratulations to the Lady Hawks softball team that was victorious over the Althoff Crusaders last night. Congratulations to Chloe Lancaster dominating on the mound and at the plate. The Lady Hawks will play at Marissa on Thurs.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS:
All are invited to Saints Peter & Paul for Living Stations of the Cross. A live performance presented by our parish youth on Wednesday, April 16th at 8pm.
BASEBALL:
Last night the varsity baseball team beat Sparta 10-0. Peyton Schaefer threw a 2-hit shutout. Nolan Snell had a 3-run double to break the game open. Tyler Frierdich had a double and a triple in the game.
The JV baseball team continued their winning ways beating New Athens 7-2. Danny Kinsey pitched the first 5 innings to get the win. Grant Tucker pitched the last 2 innings to earn the save. Garrett Patton led the offense with 2 doubles.
SOFTBALL:
Lady Hawks Softball were defeated last night by Sparta. Congratulations to Karina Jerkatis on her home run. Tonight, they take on Althoff at Althoff.
GIRLS SOCCER:
Lady Hawks defeated Roxana 7-2 and improved their record to 10-3.

Congratulations to the boys and girls track for winning a total of 34 medals Saturday, including 1st place finishes for Clara Wilson in the 2 mile and Austin Stearn in the 800 meters.

Despite Sophie Winkeler’s 3 run home run, the lady hawks were defeated by Fr. McGivney Friday night. Tonight, they take on Sparta at home at 4:30.

Rummage Sale is this Saturday, April 12th from 8am – 2pm. We are looking for volunteers to help set up after school. If you are able to help, please sign up in the office. This is a great opportunity to earn service hours.

Reminder to turn in your pizza order forms by Friday, April 11th. Pizza lunch is next Wednesday, April 16th.
PROM:
Attention all juniors and seniors: Prom is less than a month away! The theme this year is Hollywood Masquerade: A Night in Disguise. Prom tickets can be purchased between April 21-25 from Mrs. Knittig. All students must have service hours completed to buy a prom ticket. You must have a completed guest form if you want to bring a date from another school. See Mrs. Knittig with questions.
Seniors will be voting for prom court today.
BASEBALL:
Last night Varsity Baseball beat Althoff 12-11. Dante went the last 5 to get his first varsity win on the mound. Tyler Frierdich, Darrin Kunkelmann, Robert Pierpoint, and Layne Wilkens each had 2 hits, Michael Wessel had 3, and Kole Schilling was hit by 3 pitches.
JV Baseball beat Althoff 13-3 in 5 innings, they are now 5-0-1. Gus Schmidt, Sam Bollone, Steven Schaefer, and Evan Niebruegge each had 2 hits, Danny Kinsey had 3 RBI. Evan Braun and Gus Schmidt combine to allow only 5 hits.
ADORATION:
Today during the club schedule you may attend Adoration in the chapel. This is a great Lenten opportunity.
SOFTBALL:
The Ladies Hawks Softball team was victorious over the Valmeyer Pirates last night 14-2. Congratulations to Ashley Murphy who pitched the entire game, only giving up 2 runs with 11 strikeouts. While at bat she went 3 for 4 with two doubles and 3 RBIs.
CAMPUS MINISTRY:
Campus Ministry has a special day planned this Sunday, April 13th. We will hike the Salt Lick Trail Sunday afternoon and gather to watch THE PASSION OF THE CHIRST that same day at 4:30. Please see Mrs. Miskell to sign up and get permission slips.
Also, Campus Ministry is hosting a trip to St. Peter’s Cathedral in Belleville, a Jubilee Year Pilgrimage site, to celebrate Holy Chrism Mass Tuesday, April 15. We will leave Gibault at 10:30am and return to Gibault by 1:30. If you are interested in attending please get a permission slip from Mrs. Miskell.
SERVICE HOURS:
Help is needed to set up the rummage sale this week. Stop by the office to sign up.
THEATER:
The Theater Dept is still needing 2 boys to participate in the musical. If you are able to help out, stop by the office.
FRESHMEN:
