BASEBALL:

Baseball  won last night 8-1 over Christ our Rock.  Carson Timmons threw a complete game on the mound and had 5 RBI!  Kole Schilling had 2 hits and Steven Schaefer had 2 RBI.  We play Pawnee today.

FINAL EXAMS:

If you need a snack before or between exams, student council has a cart with free snacks by the front office.  Take what you need!

 




Girls Track: Good Luck to Elly Goeddel, Helen Hess, and Emelia Doerr who will be competing at State tomorrow.

Girls Soccer: Good luck to the girls as they take on Mr. Carmel at 4pm in Freeburg in their first regional game.

Lost & Found: Students please check the table that is set up in  the entryway for items that have been left behind throughout the year.  All items left will be donated.

ART:

 At Art on the Square in Belleville this weekend we had 4 students participate and one who won 2 awards.  Austin Stern, Lily Register, and Claire Kessler all represented Gibault well with their pieces.  Saddie Kaiser Smith won 2 awards for her pirate ship tea pot:  The George Gasperach Ceramics Award, and an Award of Merit along with $200.  This is Saddie’s 2nd year in a row winning an award at Art on the Square.  There were over 30 schools competing and over 250 pieces in the show.
LOST AND FOUND:
Students please check the lost and found – table will be set up in the front entry.  All items left will be donated.
FINAL EXAMS:
Students may dress down during final exams.
If you finish early during the first exam slot, you must stay in the classroom until the exam period is over.  If you finish early during the second exam, you may leave when you are done.



JV Baseball: JV Baseball beat Chester 11-7 last night.  Dante Gianino and Xandric Phillips drove in 3 runs.  Sam Bollone had two hits and drove in two runs.  Grant Tucker got his 4th win of the season striking out 5.  JV’s las game of the season will be Monday, May 18 at 4:30 against Granite City at home.




Fishing Team:  Good luck to our fishing team today during regionals: Wyatt Bergmann, Ashton Wiley, Joel Koeninger, and Grant Tucker.

Softball: Congratulations to the Gibault Lady Hawks Softball.  They defeated Steeleville 5-4 last night.  It was truly a team effort!  They play at Valmeyer tonight!

Varsity Baseball: The Varsity Baseball team beat Carlyle 7-2 yesterday.  Danny Kinsey went 5 strong innings on the mound to earn his first varsity win.  Steven Schaefer had 2 hits.  Robert Pierpoint and Carson Timmons had 2 RBI’s.  We are off until Saturday, when we play Columbia in our first game of the Monroe County Tournament.

 




 Girls Soccer: Girls soccer won 8-0  Goals scored by Karmon (4), Akenna (1), Helen (1), Aubrey (1), and Maggie (1). Assists by Natalie (1) , Lucy (1), Akenna (2) ad Rylee (1).  Shoutout by Maggie, Alaina and the defense line.

Varsity Baseball: Varsity Baseball lost to Pinckneyville 12-8. Offensively, we had 13 hits led by Dante Gianino with 3. Dylan Schaefer, Kole Schilling, and Hugh Snell each had 2 hits.  We travel to Caryle today.

Boys Soccer: Please come to the office to sign up for next year’s soccer team and uniform size and number.




Softball: Congratulations to the Gibault Lady Hawks Softball team on their win over New Athens last night.  They kept things interesting.  Chloe Lancaster had a nice hit to left field for the team to take the lead and earn the save for the game.  Thank you to all the students who came out to watch last night.  Come watch them tonight under the lights against Dupo at 7pm.

Varsity Baseball: Carson Timmons tossed a one-hit shutout yesterday, and the Hawks beat Maryville Christian 13-0 in 5 innings.  Gus Schmidt scored three runs and had three hits.  Dante Gianino, Dylan Schaefer, Steven Schaefer, and Nolan Snell each had two hits.  Today, we travel to Pinckneyville.

JV Baseball: JV Baseball Beat Maryville Christian last night 8-7.  Sam Ballone drove int he winning run in the bottom on the 7th while collecting 3 hits and driving in two runs.  Dylan Kunkelmann had two hits including a triple.  Xandric Phillips earned his first win of the season.

Boys Soccer: Any boy interested in playing soccer next year please come to the office and sign up.




HOUSE:

For House today, grab your rosary and your special prayers and head outside to the patio by the gym lobby.  Gather with your house.

EXAMS:

Students who receive accommodations, please stop by Mrs. Kueker’s office to discuss your accommodations needed for exams next week.

There will be no supervised study this week.




BASEBALL:

The Varsity Baseball team beat Nashville 2-1 yesterday, behind a complete game 13-strikeout performance from Dante Gianino! Noah Koeninger started the rally in the 5th, followed by hits from Gus Schmidt and Kole Schilling, with Kole driving in the game-winning run. Next game at Valmeyer tomorrow at 10:00 am.

JV Baseball won in a thrilling fashion last night.  They were down 2 runs with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th and came back to win 4-3.  Joey Alvarez tied the game with a double scoring 2 runs.  Dylan Kunkelmann won the game with a bases loaded walk.  Wyatt Bergmann earned his first career win as a high schooler.  Alex Loughery started the game allowing only 4 hits while striking out 5.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITY:

SPPCC  is looking for volunteers to help work the church picnic on June 12 & 13.  Stop by the office if you are able to help out.

Varsity baseball lost 7-2 to Mater Dei yesterday.  Gus Schmidt had 2 hits to lead the offense.  Today, we head to Nashville.
